LOL!

For everyone following this blog who doesn't yet know that I'm a schizophrenic blogger - please go read the post I just wrote at http://meggandj.blogspot.com - my LOL blog...

Yeah, that's right... I'm a LOL (Laughing Out Loud/Living Out Love) young woman and an aspiring "Professional Encourager" whose favorite MEDs are SMILES,... and this crazy, random, sporadic girl is still trying to discover the balance between her dual blog personalities. We'll get there eventually... ;)

Akeelah

:)
I just watched "Akeelah and the Bee."
It totally made me SMILE...and laugh...and cry. :)

Here's the main quote that sums up the movie:
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
(Marianne Williamson)

AMEN!

And here's what Akeelah says at the end of the movie:
You know that feeling where everything feels right? Where you don't have to worry about tomorrow or yesterday, where you feel safe and know you're doing the best you can? There's a word for that, it's called love. L-O-V-E.

Aw... man, I LOVE it! I had one of those really good cries after that. The kind that sums up what she just said... and you know why? It's 'cause God IS love. :) And I am so loved and blessed beyond measure... I just... can't help but be overly joyful and thankful. Wow... wow, wow...

As always... I feel like I've got more to say, but... don't necessarily know exactly how to say it right now... so I'll give up and just go. But for anyone and everyone who reads this. Know that YOU ARE LOVED!!! :) So don't be afraid to let your light shine, my friends. ;)

I'm flustered...

Hey...
I drove to Pella this morning to run some various errands.
On my way into town I noticed a man walking along the highway... He was going the opposite way as me, out of town, but it was wet and rainy, and I felt kinda bad for him.
I sorta put it outta my mind until on my drive home... he was still walking. He'd made it maybe a little less than 10 miles or so. It's still icky and rainy and gross out... and then my heart broke. I wanted to give him a ride to wherever he needed to go. I called my mom, because I knew what she'd tell me... don't pick him up Meg. Not alone, very unwise... yada yada... Somehow deep down I do kinda agree and think she's right, that's why I called her for the pep talk. At the same time...somewhere even deeper down I kinda feel like I shoulda/coulda pulled over and helped this guy out...

So, I cried...

And then, moments after the tears started to roll, I remembered the most important work of all. Prayer. I just spent the rest of my drive home praying for the man, and his family, and... whatever situation was going on in his life that he had to walk along the highway with one bag slung over his back... And I just kept crying... crying for this lost, hurt, and broken world. Blah... God, keep working your redemptive work through all of our brokenness... please, Come, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, come...

:) I'm full of it...

Wow... I'm so full of it today, I can't help myself.

But I wanted to share a couple more things I just found...

Quote by an Anthem Avenue member:
“We want to use our gifts and abilities to glorify the Lord and to have one heck of a time doing it. Living in the knowledge that we, as Christ followers, are messy people who have been set free to encourage each other in life, is at times overwhelming and scary but more so empowering and exhilarating.”

Her thoughts echo mine exactly right now...
And here's a quote from the Message... I've gotta memorize this passage next.... :) :) :)

1Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and lend a hand to those who falter, and not just do what is most convenient for us. Strength is for service, not status.2Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, "How can I help?"3That's exactly what Jesus did. He didn't make it easy for himself by avoiding people's troubles, but waded right in and helped out. "I took on the troubles of the troubled," is the way Scripture puts it. 4Even if it was written in Scripture long ago, you can be sure it's written for us. God wants the combination of his steady, constant calling and warm, personal counsel in Scripture to come to characterize us, keeping us alert for whatever he will do next. 5May our dependably steady and warmly personal God develop maturity in you so that you get along with each other as well as Jesus gets along with us all. 6Then we will be a choir--not our voices only, but our very lives singing in harmony in a stunning anthem to the God and Father of our Master Jesus!Romans 15:1-6 (The Message)

:) :) :) :) I'm verging on an overdose of smileMEDs today, ah! :) :) :) I'll try to calm myself down.

Today was also my goal day to nail down my distinct purpose for each of my blogs. (I also post at meggandj.blogspot.com), so we'll see if I can figure that out here soon so my A.D.D. journal habits don't just run rampant over these blog posts, lol.

SMILE!!! :)

Holy Spirit

I heard a great sermon last night about the Holy Spirit... (by the way, Holy Spirit, thanks for prompting me to go to the service!)

So who has the Holy Spirit?
See John 14:15ff...
Those who are following Christ in obedience!
Some quotes that popped out at me:
"True belief = obedience"
"If I'm not your Lord, I'm not your Savior"
"Do you love Christ... obey God's commands"
and what are God's commands again....? :) One that pops to my head right away when I ask that question anymore is... GO... :)
"Do I love Christ by obeying him without hesitation, with enthusiasm, joy-full, eagerly...?"

So... what are we gonna do? Resolve to be better right... try harder to obey God's commands... right, and how long will that last? Not long on our own...

"Jesus tells us to love him and obey his commandments, but he knows we can't do it on our own. We need a helper, a counselor (an advocate...lawyer to stand for us in front of the judge!), a person of the Trinity, God himself!" ENTER: the Holy Spirit!!

AMEN!!

And when we fail... Jesus Christ's blood covers it all... we belong to an amazing God. Our hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus' blood and righteousness... I dare not trust the sweetest gain, but wholly lean on Jesus' name! On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand..."

That's grace folks...AMAZING GRACE. How sweet the sound! :)

Jesus fulfills it all! :)

This is one of my rambling thoughts from last night's typed journal entry. This is something I have realized before, but it's always fun to rethink "simple" points over and over again in fresh new lights. :) I have really got to start posting this stuff more often... :)

Maybe…
We’ll always be running from religious traditions in a sense… always needing to chase something new… because.. God just cannot be contained, ya know… so yeah… the early church was right, and yeah, the roman catholic and eastern orthodox were/are right at times… but they all fail too… and yeah, the protestants.. all those with the reformation had some things right too… but eventually, all of that is gonna fail… because it simply goes all the way back to Jesus – needing a Savior, and not just some religious tradition, man-made… we just can’t make it work perfectly… ever… that doesn’t mean getting rid of it all… it’s still important – but Jesus has to fill it.. He fulfilled it… fulfilled the law… breathes life into everything… yeah… that is so cool. J
